Three students from Essex High School participated in the Bernie Sanders State of the Union Essay Contest Roundtable Discussion with Bernie Sanders at the Vermont State House.
Out of 418 essays submitted from 30 high schools across Vermont, EHS juniors Andrew Walsh and Matthew Mallory earned honorable mentions, placing in the top 15, while Saralynn Anderson took 1st place for her essay on adolescent mental health.
