The Heavenly Food Pantry, located at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in Essex Junction, will be open to families residing in Essex, Essex Junction and Westford on Thursday, October 23, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Beginning at 3:00, families arriving will be given a number, asked to wait in the sanctuary for their number to be called, and registered before being directed to the pantry for food. A volunteer will greet and escort them around the pantry, allowing them to make selections of their choosing. After food is gathered, it will be weighed (information for pantry use only) and another volunteer will bring the food to the family’s vehicle. Shopping carts will be made available for those within walking distance of the pantry.
As usual, there are no income requirements to visit the food pantry, and a variety of food is available to everyone; however, additional food provided by the USDA is available to eligible families who fall below federally mandated guidelines.
Families not able to attend the pantry may call the Church office at (802)878-5745 Ext. 4 between 9:00 a.m. and noon today through Thursday to leave contact information so arrangements for delivery can be made. A follow-up call to complete registration will take place on Thursday morning. Registration must be completed before a delivery can be
scheduled.

We want to notify you that on Friday, October 17, a helicopter will be landing behind Essex High School at approximately 11 a.m. This is planned, as a UVM Medical crew will be visiting students at CTE to talk about what they do and provide a demonstration.
Picture retake day is Tuesday, October 21st. This will be held in the EHS Gymnasium from 8:00am - 1:15pm. All students will need to get their picture taken for student ID's. Students must bring their entire photo packet to receive a retake.
For those who wish to purchase a package, forms can be picked up in the main office. Payment should be given directly to Beltrami during retakes.

The Essex Hornets football team met with former NFL player and Vermonter, Jason Foster. He talked to the team about the impact football had on his life as well as the lessons it taught him. Jason pointed out that he would not be where he is today without football, the wonderful coaches, and family support that he had around him.
Congrats to EHS junior Madeline Langlois, who recently committed to the University of South Carolina and will be a member of the school's equestrian team!
