Mark your calendars! Friday, August 23rd is EHS 9th Grade Orientation. We can't wait to meet our newest Hornets! The first day of school for all students will be Monday, August 26th.

The Heavenly Food Pantry, located at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in Essex Junction, will be open to families residing in Essex, Essex Junction, and Westford on Monday, August 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. As usual, there are no income requirements to visit the food pantry and a variety of food is available to everyone; however, additional food is provided by the USDA to eligible once a month to families who fall below federally mandated guidelines. Families not able to attend the pantry may call the Church office at 878-5745 Ext. 102 between 9-12 p.m. to leave contact information so arrangements for delivery can be made. The next food pantry distribution will occur on Thursday, August 22 from 3-6 p.m.

Thursday, September 5th Beltrami will be at EHS to take school pictures. This is held In the EHS Gymnasium during the school day. All students will need to participate for their school ID, regardless of whether families purchase a package or not. For those who wish to order photos, forms will be handed out the first week of school. EHS wrapped up 2 sessions of How to Be Hornet yesterday July 25th. Incoming 9th-grade students got a taste of what it will be like to be an EHS Hornet attending Essex High School. Students learned how to use PowerSchool. Participated in team-building skills. Had a look at how to use Google Classroom. Learned where classes would be and toured the school As well as met some classmates and had fun!

The Essex Westford School District is seeking full-time Mainstream Instructional Assistants in grades K-8, beginning in the 24/25 school year. In this role, you get to assist and supervise students instructionally, behaviorally, and physically in the general mainstream program. 💫 Congratulations to the EHS boys and girls who competed in the Vermont High School Decathlon State Championship: Nathan, Max, Finnian, Gracie, Isabella, Ada, and Grace. Over 60 Vermont high school track and field athletes came together to compete in 10 track and field events.

The 2024 Heart of a Hornet Award was awarded to Tom Emery! Each year EHS faculty and staff can vote for a colleague to receive the Heart of a Hornet Award. Criteria are that the nominee shall have met the following: Provided extra hours for students beyond the school day, consistently went beyond the normal ‘call of duty, exhibited a love for students and had an enthusiasm for teaching, and consistently displayed a positive attitude.
