All schools in the EWSD are now closed today, Monday, February 17, due to the weather. This includes the following schools: Hiawatha, Summit Street, Essex Elementary, Thomas Fleming, Founders Memorial, The ARC Center, Albert D. Lawton, Essex Middle School, Westford Elementary, Essex High School, and the Center for Technology, Essex.

Due to the weather, all EWSD schools will be operating on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 17. The delay is for all schools and district employees. There will also be no AM PreK tomorrow.

Interested in walking and biking in Essex? Attend the first open house on two Essex plans that are kicking off: Keystone Trail Connectivity Project - Active Transportation Plan. This will take place on February 20 at Essex Middle School, and you can drop in anytime between 6-7:30 p.m.

9th Grade student Jiya Asher placed first in this year’s Essex Rotary’s speech contest on February 5th winning $200. Asher spoke about how a Rotary/School partnership can help increase respect in our community. She advances to the next round to be held in March.
