Good morning, This is a message from Essex Westford School District Superintendent Beth Cobb, informing you that all schools in the EWSD are closed today, Thursday, February 13, out of caution due to the predicted forecast and potential hazardous conditions. This includes the following schools: Hiawatha, Summit Street, Essex Elementary, Thomas Fleming, Founders Memorial, The ARC Center, Albert D. Lawton, Essex Middle School, Westford Elementary, Essex High School, and the Center for Technology, Essex.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the Pink Zone Games a success last Friday! What a great event for a great cause. Proceeds will go directly to the UVM Cancer Center.

We are excited about the superintendent candidate pool and look forward to introducing you to the three finalists. Trivia Night February 17th. 6:30 pm in the EHS Library. $5 per person. Proceeds benefit EHS All-State student participation.

Thanks to everyone who attended the 8th Grade Caregiver/Student night on February 3. It was a great event!

9th Grade student Jiya Asher placed first in this year’s Essex Rotary’s speech contest on February 5th winning $200. Asher spoke about how a Rotary/School partnership can help increase respect in our community. She advances to the next round to be held in March.

Band Concert 2/12 6:30 pm. This is a free concert with epic music from the movie the Pirates of the Caribbean. Including unusual sound effects from band instruments like multiphonics and trombone snears. These students are phenomenal come be a part of the excitement!
