EHS students in the Mathematics of Financial Literacy class are participating in a stock market contest. Students started with $100,000 and continued to keep track of their stocks.

A group of Thomas Fleming students are participating in a “battery blitz challenge,” encouraging students to learn about recycling batteries and get more involved. Students have placed boxes at local businesses (Boxcar Bakery, Brownell Library, and Firebird Cafe) and at the school, as they are encouraging community members to drop off their old batteries at one of these locations so that they can be recycled properly.

Two Essex High School bowlers, Jordan Tucker and Aurora Norris, recently competed in the Vermont USBC Youth Bowling Championship held at Valley Bowl in Randolph, Vermont. Aurora Norris rolled the high score of the tournament by throwing a 234. Jordan Tucker finished in first place in the U18 girls division by averaging 187 pins over 6 games and will be moving on to represent the state of Vermont at the National Youth Bowling Championships which will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin this July.

It's the EWSD's third annual Operations Appreciation Week! From Child Nutrition workers and Transportation staff to Maintenance and Facility Technicians, Finance and HR, to the Technology Department, let's take a moment to thank the operational team that works tirelessly every day, alongside our instructional staff, to prepare for and support nearly 3,400 students. EWSD prekindergarten registration is now open! Please complete this form (https://bit.ly/4aqHNEy) to request a spot in an EWSD prekindergarten classroom for the 2025-2026 school year. Eligible students reside in Essex Junction, Essex Town, or Westford and are at least three years old on 09.01.25.
Center for Technology, Essex Dental Assisting Program 2 senior, Julia Morton, was selected as one of Vermont's 2025 Presidential Scholars. Julia is currently employed at Sunny Hollow Dental as a dental assistant for her second year in the dental assisting program and was a gold medalist at the 2024 Skills USA National competition held in Atlanta, GA! 🏆👏
Essex Middle School Physical Education teacher, Matt Bristol, was recently awarded as the Vermont recipient of First Push Syndicate’s Get On Board Gear Grant. First Push Syndicate is a program that creates opportunities for students to learn how to skateboard in a fun and safe environment with a proven curriculum through physical education classes. The Get On Board program partners with physical education teachers to facilitate their own skateboarding curriculum. The Get On Board Gear Grant supplies the recipient with brand-new skateboarding gear! EMS students will use the new skateboarding equipment in their upcoming physical education classes.
